I'd always been the sort of child parents despaired of, forever coming home with injured wildlife, strays and unwanted pets. I never changed, and as an adult I did what I could to help rescue charities in the UK.
     When a friend of mine moved abroad to Cyprus, they came across several dogs abandoned by their owners and trapped in a facility for strays. One picture of one dog there changed my world forever. I knew immediately Repo (what I came to name him) had to come to me, and so began the journey to bring him home. This is where Help For Dogs began — with one pup in need. Thanks to Repo, the lives of so many other dogs have changed.

I've had an affinity with animals for as long as I can remember, and over the years I've been lucky enough to bring many different rescue animals into my family. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart and I can't imagine my life without one (or two, or three!). 
     I believe every dog deserves to feel loved, happy and safe — no matter what they've been through. Working with Help For Dogs is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done, as is being a small part of making that dream of a good life a reality for all the dogs in their care.

I’ve always been an animal lover, and dogs have a special place in my world. My husband and I share our home with an ever-changing pack of foster dogs (and a few permanent ones) who fill our days with thievery, emotional manipulation, and plenty of laughter. There’s never a dull moment — and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

     Over the years, I’ve seen so many incredible transformations — dogs who came to us scared or broken and left full of confidence and love. That’s what drives me. Through this charity, my goal is to give every dog the care, kindness, and second chance they deserve, and to help them find their perfect forever home.

I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, starting with my first dog, Peppy, who joined our family when I was a baby. Since then, I’ve shared my life with wonderful companions — Fonzy, Keedy, Dax, and Maggie — each leaving pawprints on my heart. My passion for animal welfare has shaped who I am: I’ve been vegetarian since sixteen and proudly vegan for the past twenty years, guided by compassion and a commitment to protecting animals.

      For the last five years, I’ve volunteered with dog rescue charities, transporting dogs to foster carers and forever homes, sometimes travelling as far as Sheffield or West Wales to ensure they reach safety. Today, my home is full of love and energy thanks to my two dogs, Whiskey and Shakira, who inspire everything I do. Supporting rescue dogs isn’t just something I do — it’s part of who I am, and I’m grateful to help give animals the second chances they deserve.
